K Chandrasekhar Rao to meet MPs to firm up Lok Sabha list
Hyderabad: A day prior to embarking on his poll campaign, TRS president and Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao is likely to give clarity to those aspiring for Lok Sabha seats on Saturday. He will kickstart his campaign from March 17 with a public meeting scheduled to be held in Karimnagar.
The sitting MPs are anxious in view of speculations of that party chief is likely to drop some sitting MPs.
Earlier when some MPs met the party chief, he is said to have told them that he would finalise the contestants only after ascertaining the views of the sitting MPs.
Sources in the party revealed that Mr Rao had invited all MPs for a lunch meet on Saturday at his camp office at Pragathi Bhavan before finalising the nominees.
Sources in the TRS said that Mr. Rao would re-nominate seven MPs B. Vinod Kumar (Karimnagar), Godam Nagesh (Adilabad), K. Kavitha (Nizamabad), B.B. Patil (Zaheerabad), K. Prabhakar Reddy (Medak), P. Dayakar (Warangal), and B. Narsaiah Goud (Bhongir). Sources said that the party chief is likely to take the final decision on the Khammam, Chevella, Mahbubnagar, Malkajgiri, Nalgonda, Nagarkurnool and Peddapalli Lok Sabha seats.
Though there are reports that the Chief Minister will re-nominate Mr Dayakar from Warangal, there are speculations that he may not get a chance for the second time.
With the decision of Congress senior leader Sabita Indra Reddy to join the TRS, the Chief Minister is likely to take the views of the MPs on Saturday for the candidate in the place of Konda Vishveshwar Reddy who joined the Congress last year, sources added.
Though there are speculations that the TRS is likely to field Mr G. Ranjith Reddy, an industrialist from Warangal district, from Chevella, party leaders expect changes in the last minute in view of Ms Sabita Reddy entering the party.
