MK Stalin denies Jayalalithaa's charge on Katchatheevu
Madurai: DMK treasurer M.K. Stalin, who kickstarted the last leg of his election campaign in Madurai on Friday, denied the charge levelled by AIADMK leader Jayalalithaa against his party on the Katchatheevu issue.
“It was the then Congress Government at the Centre that handed over Katchatheevu to Sri Lanka. DMK expressed its opposition through passing a
resolution,” he said while campaigning for his party candidates in Madurai district.
Elaborating on various features of the DMK manifesto, Stalin said that people are equating the DMK manifesto with ‘Super Hero’. He made an assurance that DMK would implement all the promises made in the manifesto. Observing that
the political situation in the country has changed, Stalin said henceforth people need not approach the politicians to address their grievances.
“The elected representatives will come to you to listen to your problems,” he said.
“If people elect DMK to power, the party high command would take action against the party MLAs who failed to approach the people, he concluded.
