YSRC cadres took out silent protest rallies

ANANTAPUR: YSRC cadres took out silent protest rallies condemning the arrest of MP Avinash Reddy’s father YS Bhaskar Reddy in the Viveka murder case, through various parts of YSRC Kadapa district on Sunday.

The protesters accused the CBI of not being fair and “ignoring facts.” YS Avinash Reddy’s aides and YSRC cadres gathered in large numbers in Pulivendula after the arrest of Bhaskar Reddy. Wearing black badges, they marched to Poolangadi Circle. Shop owners shut down their establishments in a show of support to the protester. Similar protests were witnessed in Kadapa town.

In Rajampet, YSRC activists burned the effigy of CBI at Old Busstand circle, protesting against the arrest of Bhaskar Reddy. ZP chairman Akepati Amarnath Reddy alleged that a conspiracy was on to defame chief minister Jagan Reddy. He alleged tht TD chief Chandrababu Naidu was behind the attempts to tarnish the image of Jagan Reddy.

“The CBI is leaking information to the media that supports Naidu and acting in an improper way as far as the investigations are concerned. The people across the state are shocked over the arrest,” he observed and stressed the need to punish “the real accused.”

Another MLA Rachamallu Shivaprasad condemned the arrest of Bhaskar. He alleged that CBI targeted the Avinash family instead of zeroing in on the real accused and conspirators. “The investigation was not done in angles such as financial transactions, illicit affairs, second marriage or political affairs,” the YSRC MLA observed.

Meanwhile, Pulivendula TD leader B.Tech Ravi said “some justice” came about for Dr Sunith who was fighting for justice for the past four years. He said the role of big shots should come out. He called on TD cadres not to post any provocative comments on social media in relation to the case.

Police sounded alert at all sensitive parts of YSR Kadapa and Annamayya districts after the arrest.
