36,000 registrations for Annamalai's march in TN
Chennai: The proposed march across Tamil Nadu by BJP State president K Annamalai will be organized in the second week of July and 36,000 persons have already registered to participate in the ‘pada yatra’ aimed at reaching out to the people.
Annamalai, who was taking care of the Karnataka Assembly elections, returned to Chennai on Sunday and went to Tirupati on Monday. He told reporters outside the temple that the BJP would create history in Tamil Nadu after the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
Even in Karnataka, the party would capture 28 of the total 28 Lok Sabha seats in 2024, he said, adding that the latest debacle in the Assembly election was because the people wanted a change in government and not because of the campaign by Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi or Priyanka Gandhi.
No party had been re-elected to the Karnataka Assembly after 1985 and despite the best efforts of the BJP in the just concluded polls it could not break the pattern.
