TD seeks inquiry into Amaravati inner ring road
Vijayawada: Telugu Desam senior leader Dhulipalla Narendra demanded that Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy explain the quid pro quo in the Amaravati inner ring road.
Narendra recalled that in 2018, when public opinion had been sought on construction of the Inner Ring Road, Mangalagiri MLA Alla Ramakrishna Reddy did not object to the road. But he had lodged a complaint about the irregularities in construction of the inner ring road.
“Will the YSRC government order a CID inquiry into it,” he asked, pointing to the spate of CID the state government has ordered.
The senior TD leader said Jagan is giving a new “quid pro quo” definition to land transactions in Amaravati. He alleged that as the elections are approaching, the YSRC government is foisting false cases to divert public attention from problems the state is facing and throwing mud at TD president N. Chandrababu Naidu.
Narendra said Naidu has been writing letters to government since 2019 to declare the house the former CM is staying in as his official residence. But the government did not respond to these letters. It is now portraying the same house as illegal, even though it is a private property. He accused Jagan Mohan Reddy of trying to demolish the house in which the opposition leader is living.
However, the owner of the building went to court and got a stay, he pointed out.
