Pass SC categorisation Bill, appeals Manda
HYDERABAD: The Madiga Reservation Porata Samithi (MRPS) urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy to take measures to introduce a Bill on the categorisation of Scheduled Castes in the ensuing monsoon session of the Parliament.
MRPS founder-president Manda Krishna Madiga asked chiefs of the Congress, TD, BRS and the YSRC to extend their support and get the bill passed in Parliament.
“The Prime Minister, during his recent visit to Warangal, had promised to pass a bill on categorisation of SCs, in the presence of Kishan Reddy, Dr K. Laxman, Etala Rajendar and others. We would like to remind the BJP leaders, including the Prime Minister, to fulfil their promises. If the BJP fails to do so, we will take our protests to the streets,” he warned.
Further, the MRPS chief said TPCC chief A. Revanth Reddy is aware of the MRPS and its activities towards the categorisation of SCs. “Revanth Reddy must take the initiative to convince senior Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi to support the Bill in the Parliament. Other political parties — TD, BRS and YSRC — must also send delegations to Delhi and pressurise the BJP-led NDA government to pass the Bill.”
Stating that the MRPS members have readied to stage a dharna in front of Kishan Reddy’s residence, the MRPS founder said they would mobilise lakhs of Madigas from all south states to attend a massive public meeting in Hyderabad in the second week of August to raise their voice and pressurise the BJP government at the Centre as well as the Prime Minister.
