YSRC Gearing up to Face Opposition's Venomous' Campaign
Vijayawada: Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has put the YSR Congress cadres on Mission Mode to meet its ‘Why Not 175’ target and work hard for its success in the next nine months before the 2024 polls.
The party high-command has called upon the legislators, coordinators, district presidents and observers to ensure the party machinery is active in every assembly constituency in the state in the "special and comprehensive revision of voters list" starting from July 21.
YSRC general secretary and adviser to government (public affairs) Sajjala Ramakrishna held a teleconference on Sunday with party legislators, constituency coordinators, district presidents, party observers and JCS coordinators. He reminded them of the instructions from the chief minister to work for the ‘Why Not 175’ goal.
He said the party functionaries should act vigilantly in the voter list updating programme under which bogus or non-existent names would be deleted and eligible people included as voters.
“The beneficial decisions taken by the government in the matter of assigned lands and dot lands should be taken to the people. Every day is crucial for the party as the elections are to be held in nine months. The opposition is trying to defame and terrorize the volunteers. The opposition's hate and venom campaign against the volunteers should be resisted and our self-confidence should be increased,” Ramakrishna Reddy said.
As the TD was in power between 2014 and 2019, the party tried to make the electoral system and voters list in its favour by adding bogus names. The lists should be re-examined up to the booth level and bogus names should be brought to the attention of the Election Commission. Party booth committee in-charges and house managers should conduct regular reviews.
He said the TD and other opposition parties are campaigning to invigorate their cadres by saying early elections are coming, but this has no basis.
“Chandrababu and Pawan Kalyan are creating feuds in such a way as to spoil the good environment built by chief minister Jagan Reddy and to create an atmosphere of confusion. “YSRC leaders and cadres must set up their own teams at the constituency level and counter the malicious propaganda by the opposition through the social media and YouTube channels. The people should be told the truth.”
Stating that the Volunteer system has become very strong in bringing government schemes closer to the people, Ramakrishna Reddy said the TD and JS have increased their hate campaign against the Volunteers through a poisonous propaganda. Hence, party cadres should retaliate against this, he said.
