Trouble Brewing for BRS in Jangaon Segment
HYDERABAD: Trouble that has been brewing in the ruling Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) in Jangaon Assembly constituency escalated on Wednesday. Local party leaders, who are opposed to incumbent MLA Muthireddy Yadagiri Reddy, met at a hotel right beside Pragathi Bhavan here. They demanded the party leadership not to renominate Yadagiri Reddy, who, incidentally, went to the hotel and was engaged in a verbal duel with his rivals. He accused party MLC Palla Rajeshwar Reddy of fuelling dissidence against him.
The ‘rebel’ meeting of leaders from Jangaon was attended by MPTCs, ZPTCs, MPPs, sarpanchs and mandal-level leaders. They brought to the notice of the party leadership that Muthireddy had lost the trust and confidence of people and has no chances of winning the seat this time. They suggested that the leadership would do well if they instead gave the ticket to Rajeshwar Reddy.
When Muthireddy accused them of hatching a conspiracy against him after joining hands with the MLC, the local party leaders refuted the allegations and said that they held the meeting in the interest of the party in Jangaon constituency and Rajeshwar Reddy had no role in it. They told Muthireddy to approach the party leadership if he had any issues with them.
