Lokesh in Delhi to meet leaders of parties and seek their support for Naidu
Vijayawada: Telugu Desam general secretary Nara Lokesh is holding meetings in New Delhi with leaders of several political parties to mobilise support from them for his father and TD chief Chandrababu Naidu, currently under arrest and remand in the Central Prison, Rajahmundry. Lokesh is camping in New Delhi for the next two to three days.
He and TD MP Rammohan Naidu flew to Delhi by a special flight from Rajahmundry on Thursday. From Friday morning, the two started meeting leaders of various political parties to explain to them the “injustice” being done on Naidu by the AP government and its police department.
He is likely to hold discussions with top advocates of the Supreme Court to facilitate the early release of his father from the Central Prison either on bail or by other ways, as an FIR quash petition is pending in the AP high court. It is to come up for hearing on Sept 19.
Lokesh is also arranging interviews with national TV channels to explain about the arrest of Naidu and the suspected reasons behind it.
Lokesh told ANI, “Absolute power corrupts absolutely. Corrupt people send honest people to jail. The government of AP has not been able to establish any money trail to Chandrababu Naidu. I have all the relevant documents to prove that there was no scam in the skill development project in AP. The current administration has created a false case with mala fide intentions.”
TD MP Ram Mohan Naidu told ANI, “Chandrababu Naidu has been illegally arrested. CM Jagan Reddy knows he will lose the coming elections. Hence he is after Naidu. He wants to put him in jail so that the activities of TDP can be disrupted. Lokesh has come to Delhi and he will show how this case has been fabricated. Lokesh will also hold a meeting with our MPs before the special session in Parliament.”
