TRS hits back at ex-MP Boora Narsaiah Goud
HYDERABAD: TRS leaders came down heavily against former MP Dr Boora Narsaiah Goud for his criticism of Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao and his allegation that the TRS was neglecting the Backward Classes.
Dr Goud in his resignation letter on Saturday had stated that he has decided to quit the TRS as he was feeling 'insulted' within the party. He said that it was difficult to get Rao's appointment for leaders like him who wished to take issues concerning the people to his notice.
Speaking to the media in Munugode on Sunday, TRS MLAs Balka Suman, Dasyam Vinay Bhakar and others condemned the allegations and wanted to know why he had waited for two days in Delhi just to get BJP leaders' appointment. Dr Goud even failed to get the appointment of TS party incharge Tarun Chugh, they said.
On charges of neglect of BCs, Suman said "Dr Goud was just one of the doctors practising in Bhongir. Rao gave him an opportunity to contest the 2014 Lok Sabha polls and made him an MP. He was fielded in 2019 but he lost the election. How can he say that BCs are being neglected?"
On why the TRS did not field a BC candidate in Munugode, Suman said. "Based on survey reports and extensive consultations with party leaders, Rao decided to field Kusukuntla Prabhakar Reddy, who won in 2014. Goud was present when Reddy filed his nomination papers. Goud should answer whether the BJP, which he is planning to join, has fielded a BC candidate in Munugode."
