BJP-led NDA to lay siege to Kerala secretariat on October 30
Thiruvananthapuram: The BJP-led NDA in Kerala is preparing to launch a state-wide agitation against what it alleges is the LDF government's corruption and administrative paralysis.
The agitation will begin with NDA workers laying siege to the secretariat in Thiruvananthapuram on October 30. K Surendran, while sharing the details of the decisions taken at the NDA leadership meeting held in Kochi on Monday, said, "Our front will launch a series of agitations across the state raising the demand for Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan's resignation."
The NDA has criticized the forthcoming "Kerala Yatra" by the Chief Minister and his Cabinet colleagues, calling it a farce. The proposed LDF yatra plans to cover all 140 constituencies with the chief minister and ministers travelling widely to propagate the government's achievements and interact with the public. Surendran alleged that Kerala had become a hub of corruption with some of the graft charges being linked to the chief minister's name.
Apart from the agitation against the state government, the NDA will also hold over 2000 public meetings across Grama panchayats to highlight the achievements of the Narendra Modi government at the centre.
The NDA has also planned a Jan Jagriti yatra which will be held from December to January 2024. The yatra aims to organize a 'Janajagruti Padayatra' at the state level against the anti-people policies of the state government. As part of the preparations for the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls, the NDA along with its constituents will organize a state-level workshop in Cherthala on November 6 for the district and state leaders of the NDA.
