CM son's conversation on reported posting video goes viral, Siddaramaiah clarifies
BENGALURU: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s son Yathindra conversation reportedly with his father over mobile phone allegedly over posting of officials concerned has gone viral in Karnataka on Thursday.
Janata Dal Secular State president and former Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy demanded an investigation into the telephonic conversation between father and son.
It may be recalled here that Kumaraswamy had alleged “cash for postings” against the State Government and claimed to have a pen drive containing conversation of cash for postings. However, Kumaraswamy is yet to make the contents in the pen drive with him public.
Varuna seat is represented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and earlier Yathindra had won from the seat. At a function in Varuna Assembly seat in Mysuru on Wednesday, Yathindra was caught on camera reportedly speaking to his father who is also the Chief Minister on getting a few posting nominated by him be cleared.
In the video-clip which went viral, Yathindra began his conversation with “Hello Appa (Daddy) and asked “Who is Vivekananda?” and in reply to his query, Yathindra asked to hand over the phone to Mahadevu (Officer on Special Duty).
He asked Mahadevu “Why are you giving another list (for clearance)?” and directed “I have given 4-5 names for clearance and to get it cleared?” and got the phone disconnected.
Demanding an investigation into the telephonic conversation, Kumaraswamy wanted to know “Who is Vivekananda?” whose name has been referred to in the telephonic conversation of Yathindra. Kumaraswamy also wanted to know “What is the list which Yathindra has been referring to in the telephonic conversation?”
The JDS State president wanted the Chief Minister to come out with details on telephonic conversation.
Reacting to the allegations, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said his son Yathindra is Chairman of Ashraya Committee Chairman of Varuna seat and also KDP member and he has been tirelessly working for the development of the region and stated that Yathindra discussed about the list of beneficiary schools using CSR Funds.
Siddaramaiah termed Kumaraswamy of having a pessimistic attitude who does not think beyond corruption.
