Poachgate: HC adjourns decision on urging SIT to produce CD

Busavarapu Srinivas, advocate from Karimnagar, alleged that it was the SIT which had given the audio and video recording in the case to KCR

HYDERABAD: Justice B. Vijaysen Reddy of Telangana High Court adjourned a decision in the interim application filed by Busavarapu Srinivas, advocate from Karimnagar, in the poachgate case. Srinivas had sought a direction to the SIT to produce the CD pertaining to the audio conversation between the three accused — Ramachandra Bharati, Kore Nandu Kumar and D.P.S.K.P.N. Simhayaji — and complainant P. Rohith Reddy, TRS MLA, to the court.

Srinivas alleged that it was the SIT which had given the audio and video recording in the case to the Chief Minister.

Joginapally Sai Krishna, appearing for the state, submitted that the allegations were baseless and irrelevant.

The allegation that the FIR was registered in the late hours was baseless and not supported by any document, he said. The FIR was registered at 11.30 am on October 26, immediately after receiving a complaint from Rohith Reddy, pursuant to which a trap was laid and investigation was conducted by the ACP of Rajendranagar division.

The allegation that the SIT had divulged information to the Chief Minister was baseless and made to mislead the court, he said.

Sai Krishna said that YouTube links of the video coverage of the Chief Minister's meeting may not be considered by the court on two counts — they were irrelevant for the purpose of adjudicating the matter and no such electronic evidence could be relied upon by a court without producing the relevant certificate as required under Section 65-B of the IT Act.
