First build a house in AP: YSRC leader Byreddy challenges Naidu
VIJAYAWADA: Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh chairman Byreddy Siddharth Reddy has challenged Telugu Desam chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu to first build his own house in Andhra Pradesh and reside there if he is keen on engaging in serious political pursuits in the state.
“There is no favourable situation for the Telugu Desam to win even 2 or 3 seats in the next assembly elections,” he said.
Byreddy urged Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy to initiate stern action against “Telugu Desam leaders involved in the Siemens scam of Rs 250 crore” during the TD government’s term.
Addressing the media here on Thursday, Siddharth Reddy said that during 2014-19, “Lokesh and Naidu were involved in a scam of Rs 250 crore in the grant of a contract to Siemens. The father-son duo stole a large amount of the government or public money.”
“Shell companies had been started by Naidu and his son and that bribe money was diverted into those companies,” he said.
He objected to the TD branding of CM Jagan as ‘Jaadoo Reddy’ and said such terms suited Lokesh and Naidu who did “Scam Jaadoo by robbing public money.”
He urged the Chief Minister to conduct a thorough probe into the scam and punish the culprits.
Siddharth Reddy supported the “demand” from a TD worker that Naidu should build a house in Andhra Pradesh, stay in the state, and do politics, as the people would otherwise not trust him. He said Naidu did not face any inquiry or probe as he used to seek and get court stays whenever an inquiry was ordered, be it on the Yeleru scam or the Amaravati insider trading scam.
