CWC meeting: Seethakka dances, Shiva Kumar visits WTE plant, temple
HYDERABAD: The CWC meeting saw interesting instances of Congress leaders taking a gung-ho approach in putting forth their views at the meeting and showing their enthusiasm for knowing the best practices outside their state.
While Mulugu MLA Dansari Seethakka showcased her dancing skills with her nimble moves, as part of the cultural team which welcomed the guests at the venue, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shiva Kumar put his time in the city to good use and inspected the waste-to-energy plant at Jawaharnagar dump yard.
He was accompanied by the officials of the BBMP (Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagar Palike). Shiva Kumar is said to have asked the officials about the procedure of the treatment plant and was duly briefed by the officials of GHMC (Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation).
He also visited a temple of Lord Venkateshwara in the city.
An interesting anecdote of the day was when leaders were asked to deposit their phones outside the room. Leaders, including Rahul Gandhi, duly kept their phones at the designated place before entering the meeting hall.
Congress leader Sonia Gandhi is also reported to have appreciated the food arrangements made at the venue.
According to reports, the police were alleged to have shown highhandedness while dealing with senior Congress leaders like M.R.G. Vinod Reddy, not considering their age, pushing and shoving them, while receiving dignitaries at the airport.
