Minister says Lokesh calling CM for discussion on corruption a joke

Visakhapatnam: Industries minister Gudivada Amarnath described as joke TD general secretary Nara Lokesh challenge to Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy to call for a discussion on corruption.

Talking to media persons in Visakhapatnam on Saturday, Amarnath pointed out that four central agencies have been calling Lokesh for answering some queries. But instead of responding to them, Lokesh is asking the chief minister for a discussion on corruption.

“Instead of beating around the bush, why does not Lokesh say that his father Chandrababu Naidu has no link to skill development scam,” the minister asked.

He pointed out that Chandrababu Naidu had just two acres of agricultural land when he got into politics. He now has assets worth ₹683 crore. He said an English daily has stated that Chandrababu Naidu is the fourth richest MLA in the country out of 4,000-odd MLAs.

Amarnath underlined that Siemens company has nailed all the lies of the former chief minister. Siemens has even told the ED that the company has not signed any MoU with the state government.

“If Naidu proves that he established a skill developing centre with a budget of ₹553 crore, I will resign from the ministry,” the minister challenged.

Asked about the growing sympathy for Naidu outside AP and in some foreign countries, Amarnath said these are orchestrated by the TD chief’s men.

“No common man has come on to the road in protest against the arrest and remand of Chandrababu Naidu,” the minister maintained.
