HYDERABAD: The statement of TRS working president K.T. Rama Rao that he will adopt Munugode constituency if the voters elect the party nominee, “is an admission that their candidate is of no use for the people of Munugode,” said BJP Rajya Sabha member Dr. K. Laxman.
Speaking to reporters on Monday, Dr Laxman said that Rao has realised that the TRS candidate will not be able to deliver on any of his promises. As a result, they are levelling baseless allegations against the BJP, he said.
The TRS, he said, has not kept any of its promises and cannot be expected to honour those it is making in Munugode. He said it was the BJP candidate Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy’s resignation as an MLA that forced the government to declare Gattuppal as a mandal and announce compensation to Charlagudem residents who lost their lands for the proposed reservoir. Laying of roads, depositing money for sheep scheme beneficiaries and others, were made possible only because the BJP forced the TRS’ hand through the by-election, he said.
