Third Phase of Land Survey in AP to be Completed by January
Vijayawada: Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has asked officials to complete the third phase of the Jagananna Saswatha Bhu Hakku-Bhu Raksha by January 2024.
“The cabinet sub-committee dealing with the survey should take steps accordingly. Two phases of the Bhu Hakku-Bhu Raksha survey were completed in 4,000 villages. The process must be speeded up,” the CM said.
Based on the chief minister’s instructions, the sub-committee consisting of ministers Peddireddy Ramachandra, Botsa Satyanarayana and Dharmana Prasada as also chief adviser to the government Ajay Kallam reviewed the implementation aspects on Tuesday.
The sub-committee directed the officials to complete the third phase of the Jagananna permanent land rights-land protection scheme across the state by Jan 2024.
Chairing the cabinet sub-committee meeting at the secretariat, minister Ramachandra Reddy said that the fastest comprehensive land survey in the country was being done in AP. The survey has been completed in two phases. In these phases, the survey covered 4,000 villages. The land title documents have been distributed.
Dharmana Prasada said the survey process was undertaken in a scientific manner. Recently, the officials of the central secretariat, additional and joint secretaries as well as commissioners of the survey department from five states visited AP and studied the process here, he said.
“A team of officials came to AP and spoke directly to farmers and expressed their satisfaction with the results of the survey. So far, the drone-flying process has been completed in 13,072 villages. Drone images have also been sent to 9,000 villages.
The minister said the third phase survey has been completed in 360 villages. The survey must be speeded up in urban areas as well. Some 15.02 lakh acres had to be surveyed in 123 urban local bodies across the state. Officials must complete the survey process in four ULBs by the end of the third phase. They must work towards the ultimate objective of providing the rights of documents to the landowners.
The meeting was attended by principal adviser to government Ajay Kallam, CCLA Sai Prasad, special chief secretary (mines) Gopalakrishna Dwivedi, principal secretary (PR&RD) Rajasekhar, survey division commissioner Siddharth Jain, PR&RD commissioner Suryakumari, municipal commissioner, Koteswara Rao, mines department JD Srinivasa Rao and others.
