Christian minority land scam in GVMC limits: Janasena corporator
Visakhapatnam: Ward 22 corporator of Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation Peethala Murthy Yadav alleged on Wednesday that there was a huge land scam vis-a-vis the issuance of Transfer of Development Rights (TDR) by the corporation officials.
"The TDR was issued for a site belonging to the Christian minority community in the city. This TDR should be cancelled and action must be taken against those who gave the TDR indirectly. The irregularities were committed with the support of local MP MVV Satyanarayana and other YSRC leaders," he said.
Speaking to the media, Yadav said he complained to GVMC commissioner Rajababu and Mayor Kumari about the TDR issue.
He said MVV Satyanarayana MP and others hatched a plan to grab the land belonging to Christian minorities, which was worth Rs 500 crore, near Siripuram. “For the past few years, this land dispute has been going on in the form of a case in the high court. Eight cases are pending in the court.”
"How did the 18,390 yards of the land belonging to the Christian missionaries of 18 organisations get the TDR indirectly," he asked.
