Visakhapatnam: The Chief Minister wants every individual in the state to lead a healthy life, said Speaker Tammineni Sitaram while inaugurating a wellness centre and a dairy run by women in Kothakota village under Sarubujjili mandal under his home constituency Amadalavalasa in Srikakulam district on Thursday.
Speaking on the occasion, the Speaker said the government under Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy had been focusing on health, education, welfare, and agriculture. He said wellness centres were being established in all the villages and providing health services through mobile vans under the family doctor system.
“Experts and specialist doctors were going to the door steps of the people; medicines were given free, which was never done in any other state,’’ the Speaker said. Even serious cases were being referred to bigger hospitals, he said.
He said, “ A good health system was initiated during the regime of Dr Y.S. Rajashekar Reddy, who strengthened 104 and 108, and now his son Jagan Mohan Reddy is taking the health services further closer to the people.” Local leaders were present at the meeting.
