Congress Unveils Abhaya Hastham Manifesto with 6 Guarantees for Telangana Polls

Congress promised a judicial inquiry by a HC judge into corruption, scams of BRS govt. including construction of the Kaleshwaram project

Hyderabad: AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge released the Congress manifesto, ‘Abhaya Hastham,’ for the November 30 Telangana Assembly polls, including the Six Guarantees and promises of many other welfare measures here on Friday.

Among the top promises in the 42-page document are to replace the Dharani portal with Bhumata, 24x7 free power to agriculture, crop loan waiver up to Rs 2 lakh, annual job calendar to fill 2 lakh vacancies a year.

TPCC president A. Revanth Reddy said that the manifesto was like the Bible, Quran and Bhagavad Gita for the Congress and the party would implement all the promises in letter and spirit, if voted to power.

"To end the unprecedented dictatorship of the present TRS/BRS government, the Congress is committed to restore democratic governance as per the spirit and wishes of the Telangana people. As in the past, the Congress government is committed to restore Praja Darbar daily at the CM camp office. MLA will also be constantly available to the people of their constituency and hold regular Praja Darbars,” it said.

Kharge released the manifesto, which promised a judicial inquiry by a High Court judge into corruption and scams of BRS government including in the construction of the Kaleshwaram project, at Gandhi Bhavan here in the presence of Revanth Reddy and CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka. The Pharma City policy will be reviewed as per the aspiration of the farmers and High Court orders.

The manifesto said that if elected to power, the Congress government would provide free internet through Wi-Fi facilities to all students, 50 per cent discount on pending traffic challans, financial assistance worth Rs 1.6 lakh to girls upon their marriage, free electric scooters to every girl student in higher education

On the development side, it promised Metro Rail routes on the LB Nagar-Aramghar-Mehdipatnam-BHEL route, modernise the drains to make Hyderabad a flood-free city, waive penalties on property tax and house tax arrears across the state.

Legal action will be taken, based on a full-fledged inquiry by a retired High Court Judge on the various scandal and corruption allegations in the rule of the BRS/TRS government, it said.

The Right to Public Services Act will be introduced. A comprehensive portal will be set-up to receive public complaints and address them in due time. A toll-free number will be created for public complaints.

It promised to review re organisation of district / mandals to create a few more new districts. One of the new districts will be named after late Prime Minister P.V. Narasimha Rao, and Jangaon after Sardar Papanna.

Apart from the Bhumata portal and justice to farmers who have lost their land rights due to the existing arrangement, the party promised a

Land Commission to resolve all land rights issues.

Annual job calendar with vacancies in all departments will be released every year by June 2 and recruitment will be completed by September 17.

Monthly unemployment allowance of Rs 4,000 will be given to every unemployed youth till they are provided with employment or livelihood opportunities A new law to revamp TSPSC, on the lines of UPSC, will be enacted, it said.

The highlight of the manifesto is releasing the schedule for issuance of TSPSC Group- 1, 2, 3 and 4 notifications apart from notifications to fill jobs in various government departments from February 1, 2024 to June 1, 2024 to ensure the recruitment process is completed by December 2024.
