Chandrababu Naidu vows to complete Amaravati Capital
Vijayawada: Telugu Desam chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu said that Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has turned Andhra Pradesh into a state without a capital and promised to correct all the mistakes made by the Jagan administration within three months after Telugu Desam returns to power.
Naidu said, “It's been four years since the futuristic City Amaravati has remained abandoned and now Andhra Pradesh is a state without a capital. Thousands of farmers, who gave away their lands, are on the roads because of the destructive decisions taken by the greedy Jagan. TD will not allow the sacrifices of farmers to go as waste.”
Leaders of Amaravati Parirakshana Samithi conducted protests in 29 villages of Amaravati to mark the four years of the Amaravati movement on Sunday. A flag hoisting programme was held in Tullur commemorating the 1,461st day of the movement. The farmers offered interfaith prayers and paid tributes to the martyrs of the movement.
They recalled that when Jagan announced three capitals in 2019, Amaravati farmers and women launched the protest movement.
Taking to X, TD national general secretary Nara Lokesh said “it has been four years since Psycho Jagan started the destruction of the public capital Amaravati with a three-piece attack of Three Capitals, destroyed buildings worth thousands of crores and tortured the farmers who gave them land. Lokesh pointed out that Jagan destroyed roads and infrastructure but despite all this, he could not move the public capital Amaravati even an inch (sic)”
