Congress to Pass Legislation on 6 Guarantees, Says Revanth

Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy said that the Congress’ Six Guarantees would become a law next week, with the government set to bring in a legislation in this regard when House proceedings resume on December 20.

In his reply in a debate on the Motion of Thanks to the Governor’s address in the Legislative Assembly on Saturday, Reddy said the Congress government was committed to implementing the guarantees within 100 days of coming to power, as promised.

“In the very first Cabinet meeting on December 7, we approved the implementation of Six Guarantees. Of them, two guarantees — Maha Lakshmi free bus travel and enhancement of health insurance coverage to '10 lakh under Rajiv Aarogyasri — were launched within two days of coming to power. We have decided to give legal status to Six Guarantees by passing a legislation in the House soon,” the Chief Minister said.

Reddy took BRS members to task for criticising the Congress government over the implementation of the guarantees. “They are asking us when Six Guarantees will be implemented. It's just a week since the Congress came to power in the state. Already, we launched two guarantees. We will launch all six within 100 days as promised,” the Chief Minister said.
