Not aware of morphed pictures, says senior Congress leader
Hyderabad: Senior Congress leader Mallu Ravi appeared before the Hyderabad cybercrime police station in connection with the case pertaining to the circulation of morphed pictures of public representatives, and recorded his statement.
He said that as he was the supervisor of the Congress war room when it was raided by the police in December, he was responsible for all the activities in it.
It was learnt that Ravi told police that he had hired party strategist Sunil Kanugolu to work in the war room and a few more youngsters to work under him.
He, however, claimed that he had only assigned them to create social media content for the party campaign, but was not aware of the morphed pictures that were circulated. He claimed that even Kanugolu was not aware of the morphed images.
It may be recalled that police had named Ravi, Kanugolu and three others as accused and recorded their statements.
Further investigation is in process, cybercrime police said.
