It's Siddaramaiah's plot to avenge Chamundeshwari loss, says KS Eshwarappa
Hubballi: Referring to the audio tape scandal involving State BJP president B S Yeddyurappa, senior party leader K.S. Eshwarappa said it is a conspiracy hatched by the coalition’s coordination committee chief Siddaramaiah to take revenge against the JD(S) for defeating him in Chamundeshwari during the May Assembly election.
Addressing press persons here on Sunday, he said that that the Congress leader remained adamant on a SIT probe in the case as Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy himself has admitted to phone tapping in the case. Stating that Siddaramaiah is intentionally trying to drag the CM into the phone tapping scandal, he questioned the authority of the Congress leader to ask for a SIT probe.
“Chief Minister Kumaraswamy maintains that he will abide by the decision of the Legislative Assembly Speaker in connection with the audio scandal. But, Siddaramaiah pressurized the state government to hand over the case to SIT. Who is this Congress leader to announce such a decision, the BJP will question his authority in this connection”, Eshwarappa said. He also claimed that Siddaramaiah does not want this coalition government to continue.
Expressing doubts over the coalition government completing its tenure, Eshwarappa said the BJP will form the government after the coalition loses its majority. Rejecting reports that the alliance between Congress and JD(S) in the Lok Sabha polls will jeopardize the prospects of the BJP in the state, he said that his party will win 22 parliament seats in the elections.
