BRS to Release Manifesto Soon After Poll Notification

Hyderabad: With the BRS aiming for an unprecedented hat-trick, it will release its manifesto for the Assembly polls early, unlike in 2018. The party leadership is considering enhancing monetary benefits under Aasara pension, Rythu Bandhu, Kalyana Lakshmi, Shaadi Mubarak and KCR Kits schemes, in the new manifesto.

BRS president and Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao will constitute a committee comprising senior leaders to draft the manifesto, sources said. As the party is aiming for a hat-trick of wins, the party leadership is giving utmost importance to the manifesto in order to attract voters.

During the 2018 Assembly elections, Rao had released the manifesto just five days before the polling day, December 7. Party leaders and cadre were left with just three days to take the manifesto to the people as the deadline for campaigning ended on December 5.

This time, party sources said, he wants to release the manifesto soon after the release of election notification, giving leaders three weeks to highlight the promises.

In the 2018 manifesto, the party increased the Aasara pension amount for the aged and those who had lost their husbands from ₹1,000 to ₹2,016 per month, for physically challenged persons from ₹1,500 to ₹3,016, Rythu Bandhu from ₹8,000 per acre per year to ₹10,000 per acre. Last week, he announced an increase in Aasara pensions for the physically challenged from ₹3,016 to ₹4,016.

Going by this, it is expected that Aasara pensions for other categories would be increased from ₹2,016 to either ₹2,516 or ₹3,016 in the new manifesto.
Similarly, Rythu Bandhu is expected to be enhanced from ₹10,000 per acre per year to ₹12,000. Amounts under Shaadi Mubarak and Kalyana Laxmi schemes, is likely to be enhanced from ₹1,00,016 to ₹1,20,016 while financial assistance to pregnant women under KCR Kits scheme is likely to be enhanced from ₹12,000 to ₹15,000.
