KTR keeps Warangal East MLA's re-nomination hopes on tenterhooks
WARANGAL: The tour programme of BRS working president and minister K.T. Rama Rao to Warangal district on Saturday has created confusion among followers of Warangal East MLA Nannapuneni Narendar and brought cheers to his opponents
Narendar, seeking re-nomination in the Assembly elections, decided to conduct a huge public meeting as a show of strength. By announcing several developmental works, the MLA invited Rama Rao.
While addressing the gathering, the minister praised the MLA several times but he introduced to the public all the leaders, including MLCs Baswaraju Saraiah and Vaddiraju Ravichandra, Rajya Sabha member Banda Prakash and mayor Gundu Sudharani. All of them are in the race for the Warangal East seat.
Rama Rao said that if Narendar had the blessings of Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao then people would definitely see him as an MLA for the second time.
BRS leader Rajanala Srihari said Narendar had spent heavily but his hopes were dashed to the ground when Rama Rao introduced the others. There were several complaints against the MLA and Rama Rao had been informed that many big leaders will leave the party if he announces Narendar’s candidature, sources said.
Meanwhile, followers of Narendar felicitated him and offered a sword besides distributing sweets to the public in Warangal.
