BJP's 'Force Multiplier' MLAs for Telangana From Today
HYDERABAD: The BJP is all set for a big mend with 119 party MLAs from other states all set to fan out across Telangana starting Sunday, bringing with them “fresh pairs of eyes and ears” and a “different perspective” that the party believes will stand it in good stead ahead of the polls.
The visit by BJP MLAs, including from Maharashtra, Karnataka, Puducherry, Tamil Nadu, will be the first of many similar visits. For now, the 119 MLAs will stay for a week in Telangana. As the elections near, they will come again and help the state leaders in finetuning winning strategies, bringing with them their own experience in winning elections, according to party sources. The idea is to use not just individual experiences but institutional experience of the party as force multipliers, the sources said.
In all, the BJP is pressing into service some 560 of its 1,200 of its MLAs from across the country in poll-bound states.
Asked about the plan, Prakash Javadekar, party Rajya Sabha member and election in-charge for the state, said: “The BJP believes in organisational efforts. We believe in the efforts of our karyakartas and strengthening their efforts.”
The sources also said that this was not the first time the BJP has taken up this exercise. Similar exercises are being taken up in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Rajasthan. “After their visit, the MLAs will also report to the party on their findings, and suggestions which then become part of course correction measures,” the sources explained.
