Ticket war continues in Jangaon BRS party
WARANGAL: The row in the BRS over party tickets has intensified as the assembly election fever is slowly catching up with various political parties.
Local leaders of the ruling party are divided into two groups in the Jangaon district. One group backs sitting MLA Yadagiri Reddy and the other group supports MLC Rajeshwar Reddy.
Those supporting Yadagiri Reddy held a meeting under the leadership of agriculture market committee chairman B Siddi Lingaiah at the MLA camp office in Jangaon district on Thursday. They demanded that the party leadership should not allot the ticket to MLC Rajeshwar Reddy.
“He did nothing for the people. The constituency lagged behind in development since Independence but is now set for all-round development under the leadership of MLA Muttireddy,” they claimed.
A few days back, BRS party district president and ZP chairman Sampath Reddy made a phone call to the Narmetta mandal ZPTC Srinivas Naik and asked him to unite all the important leaders of the district so that they can meet chief minister KCR and request him to allot the assembly ticket to MLC Rajeswhar Reddy.
On Wednesday, some BRS leaders held a meeting at a hotel near the Pragathi Bhavan in Hyderabad against Yadagiri Reddy and demanded that the party should not re-nominate Yadagiri Reddy. However, the MLA got wind of the meeting and walked straight into the hotel. A verbal duel with his rivals followed.
