TD urges prison officials to allow two legal Mulakhats to jailed Naidu every day
Kakinada: The Telugu Desam has urged the DIG of Prisons to increase the number of legal Mulakhats to two per day for former chief minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu, placed in the central jail at Rajamahendravaram in connection with the Skill Development case.
TD MLAs China Rajappa, Buchaiah Chowdary, Jogeswara Rao, former MLAs KS Jawahar, JV Appa Rao (Nehru), SVSN Varma, Ramakrishna Reddy, Sesha Rao, Venkata Raju and Rajanagaram MLA BV Ramana Chowdary met the DIG of Prisons Ravi Kiran on Tuesday and submitted a memorandum to him.
They alleged that initially, two legal Mulakhats had been allowed per day, but from Monday, the number was reduced to one legal Mulakhat. “The state government is filing several cases against Chandrababu Naidu and therefore, he needs legal advice to fight them. Reducing the legal mulakhtas to one is not justified. This will hamper the legal fight of the former CM,” they said.
They said that the state government hatched a conspiracy to create hurdles in Chandrababu Naidu’s attempts to consult his advocates, by way of reducing the Mulakhat number.
