NIZAMABAD: The war of words is heating up between BJP MP Arvind Dharmapuri and BRS MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha over the BRS' Rs 5 lakh Insurance scheme for people of Below Poverty Line (BPL). Arvind alleged that the BRS government is offering assistance to poor people after their death in the form of insurance. Financial aid must be given to poor people when they are alive, he said. Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao failed to provide health and crop insurance to the people, he alleged.

Further, slamming MLC Kavitha, the BJP MP said that he will provide assistance of Rs 20 lakh if she dies. He also offered aid of Rs 10 lakh for minister K.T.Rama Rao and Rs 5 lakh for Chief Minister K.Chandrashekar Rao after their death. The comments by the BJP leader kicked up a big row.

Strongly reacting to the comments against her family members, Kavitha said, "Even during the peak of Telangana movement, we never criticised people of Andhra on personal grounds. We always stick to issue-based criticism". Kavitha asked people of Telangana, whether they accept the derogatory comments made by Arvind against her. "Can we allow this kind of politics in Telangana ", she asked.
