MP: Scindia Reiterates, Not in the Race for CM Post'
BHOPAL: Union civil aviation minister Jyotiraditya Scindia has reiterated that he is not in the race for the post of chief minister in Madhya Pradesh.
Talking to reporters in Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh late on Friday, Mr Scindia said that he is not keen for the chief minister’s post and he has already made it clear.
“I have said earlier also I am not keen for the post of chief minister. I was neither in this race earlier nor today. You (media) have asked me repeatedly in 2013, 2018 and now and I told you the same”, he said.
“Kursi ka race sirf Congress ko hai”(Congress is only after power), he said.
Replying to a question, he said that BJP is going to retain power with full majority in the just-concluded assembly elections.
He however declined to predict the number of seats BJP is expected to win in the polls, saying that “I am not an astrologer”.
BJP has not declared its chief ministerial face in the assembly polls, even as Congress has projected former chief minister Kamal Nath as the CM face of the party.
The Congress had made the decision by BJP not to project its CM face as a major issue in the just-concluded assembly polls with Mr Nath daring the BJP’s Central leadership to declare its CM face for MP.
Interestingly, the decision by the Congress leadership to project Mr Nath as the CM face of the party in MP has also been opposed by a section of the grand old party.
Polls to the 230-member Madhya Pradesh were held on Friday.
