Former BJP leader and actress Vijayashanti aka Ramulamma quit the party and joined the Congress in the presence of Congress senior leader N. Uttam Kumar Reddy.
She said that she had separated from the BJP as it had joined hands with the BRS, which is mired in corruption. She alleged that a few BJP leaders had used abusive language against her and hence, did not want to continue in the party.
She said that she was disenchanted with the BJP after being insulted by some BJP leaders. They do not know how to treat a woman leader, who was earlier connected with a rebellion.
