Azmeera Seetharam Naik hopeful, may not get Mahbubabad
Karimnangar: With the TRS set to announce the list of its parliamentary candidates in a day or two, speculations is rife that the Mahbubabad sitting MP Azmeera Seetharam Naik may not be chosen this time.
The TRS is gearing up to go to polls with a clear intention of sweeping 16 out of the 17 seats in the state. As a result the ruling party which registered a thumping victory in the recently concluded Assembly elections wants to choose its candidates carefully, with an eye also on a role in national politics.
Warangal party sources say, Warangal sitting MP Pasunoori Dayakar was asked to re-contest the seat. However, the cloud is yet to clear on the Mahbubabad candidate.
Though the sitting MP Seetharam Naik is confident of being asked to contest again, speculations is rife that former MLA Maloth Kavitha may be chosen for the job.
Former IAS officer and state representative at New Delhi, Ramachandru Tejavath is also said to be in the race. Party sources say that KCR is going to choose a new face in some of the parliament segments and one of them would be Mahbubabad.
Maloth Kavitha is the daughter of Dornakal MLA D.S. Redya Naik, who previously represented the Mahbubabad Assembly constituency from the Congress in 2009. Ms Maloth’s followers are confident of her contesting the Parliament seat as KCR has assured her a good future in the party. Former Mulugu MLA Azmeera Chandulal too is in the race for a ticket. The TRS is expected to release its final list of candidates on Tuesday.
