Chandrababu Naidu uses Vivekananda Reddy’s death to slam YS Jagan Mohan Reddy
Vijayawada: Decoding TD supremo N. Chandrababu Naidu’s poll campaign style since last Saturday clearly establishes that he is trying to spread a fear psychosis to attack the YSRC. He has been asking the electorate if they want Pulivendula factionalism or development in their area.
While the investigation into the murder of former MP Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy is going on at a brisk pace by the Special Investigation Team, the TD appears to have decided to fully use the incident to attack YSRC chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy by creating fear among voters, if the utterances of Mr Naidu since the last two days are anything to go by. Vivekananda Reddy was the uncle of Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy.
At every campaign meeting since Saturday, Mr Naidu has been prominently raising the issue of Vivekananda Reddy’s murder, pointing fingers at his family members. He has been saying that ‘dangerous’ and ‘anarchic’ people who have a role in the murder of a family member coming to power will only destroy the state and raise law and order issues.
TD leaders wasted no time and are using every opportunity to talk about the murder, raising suspicion on the involvement of Vivekananda Reddy’s family members.
“These polls are a fight between development and anarchism. Family members of Vivekananda Reddy tried to mislead police. They first said that it was a natural death due to a heart attack; later after police entered the scene, they changed tack. It is for the voters to decide whether they want people who don’t even spare a family member,” is Mr Naidu’s narrative.
He has been saying, “Family members killed him and tried to portray it as a natural death. They also washed the blood stains and destroyed evidence. I have never seen such a bloody crime story in any detective novel. Do they have humanity? Only demons and hardcore criminals can do such things. Do we need a Pulivendula in East Godavari which is known for tranquillity? Think about whether you want development or chaos.”
