AICC designates Revanth star campaigner for Karnataka
HYDERABAD: The Congress High Command designated TPCC chief A. Revanth Reddy as a star campaigner, among 40 from across the nation, to campaign for the party in poll-bound Karnataka.
Sources said that Revanth Reddy enjoys a good following in Bengaluru and other Telugu-speaking constituencies in southern Karnataka. Revanth Reddy will be accompanied by other Telugu leaders from Karnataka, for canvassing the votes of the Telugu population.
The decisions were taken in Bengaluru on Wednesday, with six observers from Telangana — All India Adivasi Congress vice-chair Bellaiah Naik Tejavath, former MP Mallu Ravi, former DCC president of Mahbubnagar Obedullah Kothwal, former MLA S.A. Sampath Kumar, Mulugu MLA Seethakka and PCC vice-president Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy — in attendance.
Besides, PCC vice-president Harkara Venugopal Rao, former MP Ponnam Prabhakar and former PCC working president J. Kusum Kumar were also in attendance.
Starting April 21, they will camp in allotted constituencies and primarily focus on seats that are likely to be hotly contested, to ensure a smooth performance for the party by avoiding internal rifts.
