YSRC looting state's resources, says BJP

KAKINADA: Bharatiya Janata Party state president Somu Veerraju has accused YSRC government led by Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy of looting all resources of the state, like sand and liquor, without bothering about development.

Addressing the Maha Jansampark meeting organised by BJP in Eluru Parliamentary constituency on Sunday, Veerraju said the YSRC government is neglecting development despite Prime Minister Narendra Modi releasing thousands of crores of funds for development of Andhra Pradesh.

The state BJP president lashed out at the law and order situation in the state. He said when an MP’s son and wife are kidnapped from their house in Visakhapatnam, the Chief Minister remained silent.

Veerraju accused Jagan Mohan Reddy of putting his stickers on vehicles allotted by the Prime Minister for lifting garbage from municipalities in the state. Likewise, when Narendra Modi is supplying rice costing ₹43 per kilo to 90 lakh people free of cost and giving ₹13,500 to farmers per annum, the Chief Minister is publicising the schemes as his own, he said.

Former Rajya Sabha member Sujana Chowdary said while the central government is releasing funds for the development of the state and the welfare of its people, the state government is diverting these funds. He maintained that when Amaravati was made the capital, everyone hoped it would become a growth engine for AP. But Jagan Mohan Reddy has ruined the capital.

The former MP said there is no protection for people’s representatives and Visakhapatnam has become a focal point for kidnapping, land grabbing and encroachments.

BJP leader Tapana Chowdary was among those present.
