Konda trashes KCR’s theory on cloudburst
Hyderabad: A day after Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao floated the conspiracy theory that the floods in the Godavari region were the result of a cloudburst engineered by certain countries, former MP Konda Vishweshwar Reddy questioned the Chief Minister to provide evidence for his claim.
At a press conference on Monday, newly-joined BJP member Vishweshwar Reddy debunked the cloudburst conspiracy notion through a slide show presentation on Monday.
The BJP leader asserted that there is no such thing as a man-made or artificially induced cloudburst and that the Chief Minister’s statements are unfounded.
He advised the Chief Minister to educate himself on the meteorological factors that contribute to cloudbursts.
The BJP leader went on to claim that the Chief Minister was just looking for justifications for the government’s failure in preparing for the Godavari river floods, which resulted in the submersion of two pumphouses of the Kaleshwaram project.
“If the Chief Minister is sure of his claims, then he should provide proof,” the former parliamentarian remarked.
Earlier on Sunday, state BJP chief Bandi Sanjay Kumar and Union tourism minister G. Kishan Reddy also mocked the KCR’s cloudburst theory and demanded proof of it, while party MP from Nizamabad Dharmapuri Arvind took to Twitter to express that he was “genuinely concerned over the state of the mental health of the Chief Minister”.
Further, Lok Sabha MP Arvind stated that going forward he will refrain from responding to anything unparliamentary the Chief Minister utters about the BJP leaders and refute all claims made by Chandrashekar Rao with facts and figures.
