Pawan Hints at JS-TD-BJP Alliance for Polls in AP

Vijayawada: Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan has hinted that his party in alliance with Telugu Desam and BJP would contest in the upcoming polls in Andhra Pradesh.

The Jana Sena chief, currently in Delhi to attend the NDA meeting, told the national media he was hopeful of a Jana Sena –TD - BJP alliance for the 2024 Assembly and LS polls. The party that gets the largest number of seats would take the CM post, he said.

“I am not insisting on becoming the CM. It is more important to defeat the YSRC,” he said.

However, the Telugu Desam had not been invited for the NDA meeting as it fell out from the BJP-led alliance in 2018 and TD chief N. Chandrababu Naidu worked hard to defeat the NDA and PM Modi in the 2019 polls.

Pawan Kalyan is expected to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi, home minister Amit Shah and BJP national president J.P. Nadda and might propose a three-party tie-up.

The Jana Sena leader had met Chandrababu Naidu several times and underlined the need to sail together to defeat the YSRC.

Pawan Kalyan lashed out at the YSRC government, alleging that there was large-scale corruption and lack of job opportunities for unemployed youths. The government was unable to pay salaries to its staff on the first of every month due to the financial crisis in AP, he said.

Though the state government was unable to pay bills to the contractors who did work, it was raising loans at 10 per cent interest rate to pay to those who were in its favour.

The Jana Sena chief, who successfully completed two phases of his poll campaign in the Godavari region, promised the people that he would develop the state and help youths get financial support for starting their own ventures.
