Kharge to release SC/ST Declaration in Chevella
HYDERABAD: The Congress will hold a ‘Praja Garjana’ meeting in Chevella on August 26, where AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge is expected to release the SC/ST Declaration for the upcoming Assembly elections, TPCC chief A. Revanth Reddy said on Saturday.
Speaking at the extended TPCC meeting, Revanth Reddy said, “The minority declaration will be announced in Warangal. We are forming a sub-committee to prepare the OBC and mahila declarations. Sonia Gandhi will be invited to release the party manifesto.”
Calling on the cadre to take on the BRS head-on, Revanth Reddy said, “Cadre should make the Chevella meeting a success, akin to the one held in Khammam. We have appointed coordinators, Parliamentary constituency-wise, for this purpose. Expose the anti-people policies of the BRS for the next one month. After that, we will explain what we wish to do after we come to power in our programme.”
Meetings will be held at the Assembly level between August 21 and 25, he said.
AICC’s Telangana state incharge Manikrao Thakre called on the cadre to take the declarations, chargesheets against the BRS and the proposed welfare programmes to the people.
“These should be taken to the people like the Haath Se Haath Jodo Yatra. Everyone should strive to make the Chevella meeting a success. The Thiragabadadham-Tarimikodadam programme should be taken to every door step,” Thakre said.
Briefing the media on the decisions taken in the TPCC extended meeting, working president Mahesh Kumar Goud said, “Discussions were held on Thiragabadadham-Tarimikodadam. It has been decided to take the issue of corruption by the state government from August 21 to September 15. People had to endure various difficulties over the past nine years. Failed promises and the way people were cheated should be taken to every nook and corner of the state. A separate chargesheet will be released against the Central government also.”
“We should expose how Adani and Ambani were enriched and ask where the promised two crore jobs are. There is innate dissatisfaction with the KCR government among the people. We will bag 75 to 80 seats whenever the elections are held. We are going to give the BC leaders their due and allocate seats to them. BCs will be provided space in the screening committee also,” he said.
