BJP Calls Congress's 'Ghotala Sheet' A Compilation of White Lies
Bhopal: Congress on Friday released a chargesheet against the Shivraj Singh Chouhan government, accusing it of being involved in 254 mega scams, ahead of the year-end assembly polls in Madhya Pradesh.
Madhya Pradesh unit Congress president and former chief minister Kamal Nath who is the CM face of the party in the forthcoming assembly elections in the state, due in November this year, released the ‘Ghotala sheet’, acronym of which is scam sheet, against the Shivraj Singh Chouhan government here, alleging that it has created a world record of scams.
“The list of scams in the Shivraj Singh Chouhan is so long that I have stopped counting them. I have only listed 254 mega scams in the chargesheet. The Shivraj Singh Chouhan government has created a world record of scams during its 18 years’ rule”, Mr Nath told reporters here.
The days are not far off, when, if a scam is searched in Google, a photograph of Mr Chouhan will appear, Mr Nath quipped.
When asked why he did not probe the alleged scams when he was the chief minister in the state in December, 2018- March, 2020, he retorted, “I am not a 2018 model. I am a 2023 model now”.
The former chief minister however said that his government lasted barely 15 months and hence, he did not get enough time to probe these alleged corruptions.
BJP has however called the chargesheet ‘white lies’.
“The Congress is known as a factory that manufactures lies. The chargesheet is a compilation of white lies. Nobody believes Congress since the party has lost its public credibility for misleading people on every issue”, state BJP president V D Sharma said.
Mr Sharma alleged that a scam of Rs 15,000 crore happened during the 15-month-tenure of Kamal Nath government.
He said that the enforcement directorate (ED) had found unaccounted wealth worth Rs 281 crore from Mr Nath’s kin when he was the chief minister.
