Warangal Residents Eagerly Embrace Congress' 6 Guarantees
WARANGAL: People of various sections welcomed the six guarantees that were promised by the Congress and expressed their confidence that it would fulfil them, unlike the ruling BRS which betrayed them by making several hollow promises here in Warangal district.
N.Saritha, a homemaker and a resident of NTR Nagar in Warangal city speaking to Deccan Chronicle said that the Mahalakshmi scheme would be helpful for middle-aged women like her who are not employed and are dependent. The scheme which included sanctioning of Rs 2,500 every month and free travel in RTC buses along with gas cylinders for Rs 500 would be a blessing to the women. They need not have to ask their family members every time to fulfil their minimum basic needs, she added.
Jimmi Lal Naik, a resident of Mulugu district speaking to Deccan Chronicle said that the Rythu Bandhu scheme introduced by BRS was meant to benefit only the rich but not the poor and tenant farmers whereas the Rythu Bharosa scheme announced by Congress would not only help tenant farmers but also agriculture labourers.
When the BRS was imposing restrictions on the cultivation of paddy crops, Congress announced a Rs 500 bonus for paddy crops which was an encouragement for the farmers, he observed.
Similarly, S. Radhika, a widow who was a private employee and has two school-going daughters living in a rented house in Hanamkonda city said that she applied for double-bedroom houses long before and lost hope waiting for years together. At least the Congress after coming to power would fulfil its promise of allotment of house sites and sanction of Rs 5 lakh for construction of a house under Indiramma Indlu scheme, she opined.
A. Krishna Prasad, an unemployed youth who was disappointed for not including unemployment dole in the six guarantees announced by the Congress alleged that the BRS betrayed unemployed youth with false promises of sanctioning of unemployment dole. But the Vidya Bharosa card worth Rs 5 lakh would be highly helpful for the students who belong to poor families and can fulfil their dream of pursuing higher education, he added.
N. Laxmaiah, an aged person expressed happiness with the Cheyutha scheme and said that after coming to power, the Congress government must implement the scheme by sanctioning a pension amount of Rs 4,000 in the first week of every month without fail, unlike the BRS.
Meanwhile, the ticket aspirants of Congress who applied for MLA tickets are very much excited about the success of the Tukkuguda meeting and intensified the political activities in their respective constituencies, even though the party leadership has not announced the MLA tickets to them. They not only conducted the ‘Vijay rallies’ in their respective constituencies but are participating actively in the ‘Intintiki Congress’ programme and are distributing the guarantee cards of six promises the Congress made to the people.
