People of Various Sections Voluntarily Participated in Cong Bus Yatra in Karimnagar
KARIMNAGAR: Congress leaders and activists including women and you took part in the Rahul Gandhi Vijayabheri bus yatra in large numbers and were given a grand welcome as soon the yatra entered the city here in Karimnagar on Thursday.
A flower merchant packed his bag and rushed to the meeting. Speaking to
Deccan Chronicle he said that by seeing the response from the public to the
Congress it has become evident that Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao's
gimmicks will not work and people are not going to believe him.
“Even in my village which falls under Peddapalli district, the Congress candidate will register victory in the coming up assembly elections,” he added.
A middle-aged person who lost his slippers in the heavy rush, speaking to
Deccan Chronicle, said that he lives in a nearby colony and had come to see
Rahul Gandhi who came for the first time to Karimnagar.
“I did not expect that many people would attend the meeting. I lost one of my slippers. I am not worried about the slipper which I lost but was happy to see many people showing interest to see Rahul Gandhi.” he said.
Minority community leaders said that Rahul Gandhi clearly explained to the
people what the Congress will do after the formation of the government in
the state. “The Congress is such a party which will never go back on its
promise. It had promised that it will give Telangana and give it a separate
state,” they said.
“Now it has given six guarantees and definitely it is going to implement them after forming the government. Whereas the BRS made many promises but did not fulfil them even though it has been given power two times by the people,” he lamented.
A young man who attended the meeting said that he completed his graduation
and was running a mobile shop and his wife also completed postgraduation and
was working as a teacher at primary school.
“The BRS government promised youth that jobs would be allotted to each
family and sanction unemployment dole but after coming to power it deceived
the youth and unemployed youth,” he said.
A woman headed with the group who attended the meeting speaking to Deccan
Chronicle said that we did not completely understand what Rahul Gandhi was.
Even the police personnel who were deployed at Rajiv Chowk expressed their
surprise to see a large number of people arriving for the meeting. Some of
them faced a lot of problems to control the public while some others focused
on what Rahul Gandhi was saying during his speech.
