Khanapur: Hundreds of women turned up at Priyanka Gandhi's public meeting and claimed that they saw shades of former prime minister Indira Gandhi in her.
A. Laxmi said that Priyanka was so cute and looked like her grandmother and added that she was lucky to have caught a glimpse of Priyanka from a distance at the Congress public meeting in Khanapur on Sunday.
P. Gangavva from Bheernandi appreciated the fact that the helicopter with Priyanka on-board went around the venue before taking off to Asifabad. She said that this was Priyanka’s show of affection to the women, who turned up in large numbers for her public meeting.
While women started waving to Priyanka when her helicopter took off, lambada women, in traditional attire, danced to the tunes of Congress party songs.
Meanwhile, supporters of Durga Bhavani, president of Nirmal district mahila Congress, expressed their disappointment that Bhavani was not allowed to speak, though she was the only woman leader present on the dais during the public meeting.
