Nadda Says Double Engine Only Route for All-Round Development of Telangana
HYDERABAD: BJP chief J.P. Nadda on Sunday called upon the Telangana electorate to end the family rule of the BRS and elect the saffron party to ensure all-round development of the state.
Nadda, addressing public meetings in Narayanpet in Narayanpet district and Chevella in Rangareddy district, said the BRS must be sent packing. “There is all-round development in BJP-ruled states with double-engine governments and all sections of people are benefitting. Telangana is the only state where VAT on petrol and diesel was not reduced. We will bring it down if voted to power in the state. We will offer free travel to Ayodhya and Varanasi,” said Nadda.
He also rapped the Congress for allegedly failing to implement pre-poll promises in neighbouring Karnataka.
Continuing his tirade against the ruling party, he said: “BRS means ‘Brashtachar Rakshasula Samithi’. Chief Minister Chandrashekar Rao has cheated all sections of society. There is destruction in the name of development. KCR rule has been making only a section of people happy.”
“Thousands of acres of land went missing on Dharani, owing to corruption, which also caused sinkage of pillars in Kaleshwaram project,” Nadda charged.
He cited the Miyapur land scam, ORR contract irregularities and 30 per cent commission in Dalit Bandhu as further evidence of the BRS’ corruption.
“By not joining the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, he has let down the farmers. The promised double bedroom houses didn’t materialise either,” Nadda said.
Praising the audience, he said: “The huge attendance of youths at the meeting despite the World Cup cricket match shows their commitment towards the party. BRS president and Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao is busy increasing his family assets at the cost of development of Telangana. We are fighting dynastic politicians in Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah in Kashmir, and against Congress and Akali Dal’s Prakash Singh Badal and Sukhbir Singh Badal in Punjab. In Haryana, we are fighting the Chautala family. In UP, we were fighting Mulayam and now, Akhilesh and Dimple.”
Continuing in his theme, he said, “In Bihar, we have Lalu, Rabri, Tej Pratap and Tejashwi. In Bengal, we have Mamata and her nephew Abishek. In AP, we have Jagan Mohan Reddy after YSR. In Tamil Nadu, we have Stalin and Udayanidhi Stalin after Karunanidhi. In Maharashtra, we have Sharad Pawar and then Supriya Sule.”
