Bommai Mama is not 'nam ke vaste but kam ke vaste' leader: Kichcha Sudeep
Shiggaon: Actor Kichcha Sudeep kickstarted his campaign in support of Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai at Shiggavi after the latter filed his nomination.
“I am happy that I have started the campaigning from the birthplace of Kanakadasa and Santh Shishunala Shareef,” said Sudeep, while participating in a roadshow on Wednesday.
Sudeep declared that he would campaign on behalf of his ‘Bommai Mama’.
Bommai had filed his nomination on Saturday, as it was an auspicious day. However, he filed the nomination again today in the presence of BJP national president JP Nadda.
While party workers gathered to listen to the speech of JP Nadda, others had come to have a glance of Sudeep and listen to him.
“I came to this place for the first time but received a warm reception. I thank you for the love showered on me. I have come here on behalf of Bommai Maama,” he said.
“In the small tenure he was in power, Bommai Mama had done a lot of work. He has shown that he is not a ‘Nam ke vaste but kam ke vaste’ leader. Now, he is not alone. I am with him,” Sudeep added.
“As an Indian, I appreciate many of the works done by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. I feel happy when people speak with respect about India, during my trips to foreign countries,” he added.
Quoting a line from one of his movies -‘Gedde Gelluve ondu dina, gellalebeku olletana’ (One day I will win. Virtue will have to win), he said he believes in it. "With all your cooperation, I will ensure the victory of Bommai Maama,” he said.
