Vijayawada: Barring the prediction made by one agency, all the exit polls conducted by various survey agencies have put the YSRC in the top league, projecting that the Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy led YSRC Party will bag maximum seats against the N. Chandrababu Naidu led Telugu Desam in the Lok Sabha.
A few Telugu-states-based survey agencies even predicted a clean victory for the YSRC in the Assembly polls which will pave the way for Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy to become Chief Minister.
India Today-Axis exit poll has predicted that YSRC will sweep Andhra Pradesh with 18 to 20 out of the 25 Lok Sabha seats. The ruling Telugu Desam has been predicted to win between 4 and 6 seats only. This exit poll, based on a sample size of 7,42,187 voters, projected that the YSRC will have a vote share of 45 pc while the Telugu Desam will have a vote share of 38 pc.
According to Times Now-VMR exit poll, the YSRC is likely to sweep the state with 18 seats — 10 more than what the party secured in 2014 — while the N. Chandrababu Naidu led Telugu Desam is expected to lose with just 7 Lok Sabha seats. It further predicted that the BJP might lose its only 2 seats that it had acquired in the state in the 2014 elections.
Interestingly, however, there will not be a big jump in the YSRC’s vote share this time as compared to the previous elections. The party, which stood at 45.5 per cent in 2014, is projected to secure 48 per cent of the state’s votes this year.
As per the NewsX, India News, My Neta survey, YSRC is expected to win 20 seats, and the Telugu Desam Party is expected to win the other 5.
However, a survey conducted by two top news channels showed a close fight between the two parties.
News 18’s IPSOS survey has identified anti-incumbency, caste, and corruption as the major factors that could determine the outcome of the elections in Andhra Pradesh. As per its survey, the YSRC is likely to bag 13 to 14 seats while the Telugu Desam Party is likely to bag 10 to 12 seats.
Republic TV’s C Voter projected 14 seats for the Telugu Desam Party and 13 to 16 for the YSRC.
However, Today’s Chanakya, the exit poll survey by News24, has predicted the ruling party Telugu Desam to win with 17 seats and the YSRC to win 8 seats.
