Dwarampudi challenges Pawan to contest from Kakinada

KAKINADA: Kakinada MLA Dwarampudi Chandrasekhara has challenged Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan to contest from Kakinada Urban assembly constituency. “I will defeat you. If I can’t, I will quit politics,” the MLA said.

“If you lose, you should do the same. I will convince Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy to give me a ticket for the Kakinada Urban seat. You should convince Chandrababu for the ticket. Though you are chief of the Jana Sena, you can’t decide on your ticket. If you don’t accept my challenge, you would be declared as a coward,’’ said Chandrasekhara Reddy.

Giving a strong counter to Pawan Kalyan to the charges the actor leveled against him a day ago, the MLA told the media here. “I was born in Kakinada and strived hard in politics to reach this level. I won twice from Kakinada. But Pawan Kalyan contested for two seats and was defeated. These are our track-records,” he said.

The MLA said Pawan Kalyan was changing his tunes frequently. “On March 14, he told his partymen that Jana Sena can’t win enough seats to enable him become the CM. Now, he says he will become chief minister. It means, he has a problem fixing a deal with Chandrababu.”

Chandrasekhar said, “Pawan Kalyan alleged that I and my family earned Rs 15,000 crore by PDS rice exports. It proves Pawan doesn’t know anything about rice exports. If I had as much of crores, I would have easily bought Pawan Kalyan and offered him one or two seats for his party.”

To the allegation that he gets drunk, he said, “In fact, I don’t drink and I am a teetotaler. I was brought up in a disciplined manner by my family. Pawan Kalyan is surrounded by drunkards.”

Dwarampudi said Chandrababu Naidu attempted to split the society caste wise. “Now, Pawan Kalyan is continuing with this game. If the people defeat these two leaders in the coming elections, all castes would mingle with each other and live happily in the society.
