Another Andhra legislator tests positive for Covid-19

The YSRC\'s MLA for Tenali has been put under home quarantine

Vijayawada: Another YSR Congress MLA has tested positive for Covid-19 in Andhra Pradesh. Tenali MLA, Annabattuni Siva Kumar is under home quarantine after his sample returned positive. Two earlier samples had showed negative.

He is the second YSRC MLA to test positive after the MLA from Ponnur, Kilari Rosaiah, caught the virus.

Siva Kumar said he was confident of recovering from the infection and appealed to the public to follow the Covid-19 protocol to contain the spread of the pandemic. The MLA asked the people of Tenali constituency to avoid coming to his home and office; they could instead contact him on the telephone.

Meanwhile, a total lockdown has been imposed in Narasaraopeta and in Vinukonda in Guntur districtt from July 20 to July 26 to contain the virus. Vinukonda tahsildar A Venkateswaralu urged the public to cooperate with officials by following the lockdown restrictions and Covid-19 protocol for one week.
