TSIIC Acting Illegally to Benefit BRS Legislator: Congress
HYDERABAD: The Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TSIIC), which issued a notification for acquiring 108 of 155 acres for an industrial park in Turkapally, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district, illegally exempted 15 acres to benefit the local BRS legislator, alleged TPCC spokesperson Boreddy Ayodhya Reddy here on Wednesday.
The 15 acres land is currently in the name of some followers of the MLA Gongidi Sunitha Mahender Reddy. It has been exempted from the official gazette notification issued on January 4, 2002 to extend undue benefit to the MLA. The government is acquiring the land belonging to others at Rs 15.50 lakh per acre, while its current market value is around Rs 60 to 70 lakh per acre. Once the remaining land is acquired, the value of the 15 acres will shoot up to 'two crore, he said.
Alleging that the BRS leader has been involved in these deals, he said, “While land belonging to poor has been taken away, those belonging to followers of the MLA have been exempted so that she can benefit from it. How did the MLA, who had a white ration card before holding public office, earn in crores? Even more bizarre is that cheques issued to 43 poor farmers as compensation for their lands have bounced. An enquiry should be instituted to probe this entire murky deal.”
